Alphabetical Tag – ‘K’
I was tagged by Silky Moon, with the alphabet ‘K’ – this was a tough one, coz I hardly could much from this alphabet from my life.
Here are a few of them:
K – a letter that carries enough luck to have changed fortunes of three showbiz personalities – Karan Johar, Rakesh Roshan and Ekta Kapoor. It’s the letter on which my name ends, so does that mean reverse luck for me?
Kashmir – a place I want to visit, but cannot given the situation there. I will not delve into the political background or historical veracities, but my emotional rant is that Indian map will seem head-less sans this state. Hope peace prevails on the paradise soon.
Karma – the foundation stone on which a large part of Hinduism rests; and something that I believe in.
Karela – not a favorite dish amongst many, but I love it – especially the masaaledaar way mom cooks. Piping hot daal, with karela, raita and a side of aachar or salad and phule-hue-phulke is an ideal halka-ghar-ka-khana
Kerala – Described as ‘God’s own country’, it is truly a beautiful place. A boat ride on the serene backwaters is very soothing and peaceful.
Kuchh nahin – a phrase I often use when I don’t want to get into too many specifics – it could mean anything: from ‘I am ok’ to ‘Pls. buzz off’
Kabhi Kabhie – a finely directed film with superhit music, majority songs sung by Lata Mangeshkar.
Kajol – one actor who is universally accepted and liked; I have yet to meet someone who isn’t fond of her. She is spontaneous, natural and carries a unique spunk that lights up the screen.
Kathmandu – a city on and from which I wrote the maximum; somehow on return, the rhythm is simply not returning. Lots of memories, lots of things to be cherished – those were good one-and-a-half-years. With an awesome weather, the city is – what I call – an ideal ‘retirement’ place; neither too big to be intimidating, nor too small to be boring. From the architectural finesse of the temples and palaces to the ring of lush mountains surrounding it to the criss-cross of lanes and bylanes to the colors of Thamel to its incessant rains, Kathmandu’s many hues and colors will always be deeply etched in my memories!
Quiz – Just For Fun – Winners
Mehak was the first one to give all correct answers. Congrats!
Other correct entries came from Anks, KJ and Anubha (who got it right the second time; from where did you think of Albela? I like Govinda, but wouldn’t call him ‘superstar of all times’ nor does he have a son in showbiz!)
Funny Moment of the Day
Both HT and TOI have carried Sarangi Mahajan’s interview – and both call it ‘exclusive’ and ‘only in’ their paper only! Wonder what the editors will feel seeing their rival cover stories today?

i absolutely agree that India wud look headless w/o Kashmir… in fact, the map now looks just ccomplete, what with the eastern and western areas forming arms and the southern states resembling a mermaid’s tail!
waise i luv bharvan karela too…. with plain hot yellow dal…yum!!!!

What is this there is just nine it should be TEN!!!!.
Nice list.
Kashmir is the place I want to go. Hope one day I will visit.
Karela is also my favorite no matter how you cook it. Fired and cooked in gravy with tomatoes, or simply fried or bharwaN or fried with besan cooked liked fish curry, or boiled and make achar with aloo (Nepali style achar I think you know that) etc. etc. I simply like it. Yesterday night I had it
.
There are few films that I love to see again and again and Kabhee Kabhee is one of them. Yes, most of the songs by Lata di and song by my other fav singer and I like the both version of songs he sang in that film
.
Kathmandu was known answer.
