Very Good Review.

I watched this movie, and still can’t stop thinking about it.

You were spot on. The concept of this movie was great, but there were too many messages being conveyed, and as a result confusion arose.

I had heard the song Maula Mera Maula many months before viewing the movie. I thought it would be a happy love story type of film, but I was surprised.

Mehru had hung herself, and then Anwar started to feel deep regret about his involvement….and then the song “Tose Naina Lage” starts playing…..it was very emotional. Then I kept wondering why Anwar, a Muslim man, was fantasizing about Krishna and Meera…it symbolized his love for Mehru. It shows that love is pain, and that acting upon jealousy served no purpose.

I found the big gatherings at the temple a bit over the top, but an Indian friend of mine told me those behaviors are common. He told me little things are often blown out of proportion. Also, that many Indian-Muslims have been treated differently since 9/11. Then it also shows the fate of a Muslim girl who decides to marry outside her religion, and the price she had to pay for being in love

This film is not for everyone. Not for those who like the glamour, glitz, and unrealistic realities of typical Bollywood films. You have to have a lot of patience to watch it, as some scenes were excessively long. It could have been directed better too, but then I wonder if the message of this film would have been felt?

Ah… Bombay… you jogged up memories of horrific train and road travel…. and I loved that time… no matter how much i cribbed about it, i still love it!!!

Mate..you should come and see Pune’s Autowalas.

the other day i went to an auto and asked the driver ‘Bhaiya, —-chaloge” and saw me with an expression that said ” tum zameen pe rengne wale keede, tumhaari ye himmat ki mere auto main baithne ka sapna dekho”!!

PS: Yes, i am back in India/Pune

This is the first time I started the GM diet plan and it is my 2nd day today.I am feeling fine as of now..Hope I am able to carry it till 7th day…Many of you have lost so much that I am looking forward to see same results on me as well…..Hope I succeed!!!!

Any advice from experienced ones??
