Both sisters Lata and Asha have kept slim. And always are energetic inspite of being 70 plus. Lataji may soon receive the French Legion Honour. Lataji will always remain in the power list as long as God smiles upon her. And she has God's blessings as well as her millions of fans around the world. That is true for any artiste... Amitabh Bachhan became the legend due to the support of directors like Prakash mehra, Man Desai, Yash Chopra... SRK 's popularity is often attributed to Johar-Chopra camps, etc. Plus of course, a bit of luck too. But the fact is how much resilient and talented the artiste is to make the best of the opportunities and then shine through them. So, i feel that even if Zanjeer hadnt happened, AB wud hv hd some other vehicle to zoom his career to the zenith. After all he followed it up brilliantly with other directos. Same for Latadi too - if Barsaat/Mahal/Andaz hadnt happened in 1949, there wud hv been some other films. The fact that both AB and LM (two superstar icons of our country) strode like a collosus over varying eras and techicians (directors/music composers) makes them great!
